Abstract: A system prototype including simulation model generator, time parameters calculator and Tabu search algorithm is realized by integrating Visual Foxpro 5.0 and Siman 3.51 for middle-and small-batch job shop scheduling and rescheduling problem. Simulation model generator is used to work out a comparatively detailed schedule, which is then optimized by time parameters calculator and Tabu search algorithm to approach an optimal schedule.
