Simulation on the Order Point of an Blood Inventory System

Abstract: Blood is a type of deteriorating items.This paper has built a discrete event simulation model for blood inventory system of a big hospital in china.Based on the real-time data,the optimal order point is determined by repetitious computer simulation.The paper will be helpful to the determination and modification of blood inventory systems’ order point,and the management of other inventory systems with deteriorating items.
